About Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Orchestra

Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Orchestra is aimed at advanced wind, brass and percussion players.  it provides an opportunity to tackle advanced repertoire and perform at a high level.

The orchestra has a well stocked library and plays a wide variety of music, including original 20th century wind band scores through to arrangements of popular and classical music.

The orchestra gives two or three public performances a year in concert halls, churches and outdoor venues. Auditions are required.  These are achieved over two full rehearsals to ensure members are comfortable to rehearse and perform at the required level.  As a guide, a minimum of Grade 7 or above, is required. New members are always welcome, but GSWO would be particularly pleased to hear from players of trumpet/cornet, French horn or percussion.

Rehearsals take place at Colwell Arts Centre, 7pm-9pm on Monday evenings, term time only. Please see the calendar for further rehearsal information.
